The Gokyo Valley Trek is not any ordinary trek; it is a journey to the Ngozumpa glacier, the mountains, visiting the Gokyo Lakes and the rich Sherpa culture. A combination of many beautiful components complimenting each other in the best way possible; it is a spiritual journey for self-discovery is the best way to describe the Gokyo Valley Trek!
The Gokyo valley lies in the Khumbu Region, surrounded by the Mt. Everest (8848 m), Mt. Cho-Oyo (8201m), Mt. Lhotse (8501m), and Mt. Makalu (8463m). Therefore this trek is also known as the Everest Gokyo Trek. The highlight of the trek is the high altitude freshwater lake system that comprises six major lakes; Gokyo Cho (DudhPokhari), Thonak Cho (the largest), Gyazumpa Cho, Tanjung Cho, Ngozumpa Cho, and Longbanga Cho. The Ngozumpa glacier, which is a beauty in itself feeds the lake. Climbing Gokyo Ri (5836 m) is another reason that makes the trek an adventurous one. The 360-degree view of the mountainous glories from the top will be a cherry on the cake, making the Gokyo Valley Trek a topper amongst trekking in Nepal. During the Gokyo Valley Trek, we will go through many villages like Khumjung, Kunde, and Namche, which will take us through a cultural journey. Walking past the Monasteries, Mani walls, and prayer flags, we get a positive vibe that purifies our soul. The tea houses on the way should not be ignored either; as they serve a unique butter and salt mixed tea, giving you energy for the walk. The best time for the Gokyo Valley Trek is autumn (September to November) or spring (March to May) seasons. So, don’t wait or procrastinate anymore. Go for Gokyo, as it will be one life-changing trek. Our experienced guides and Sherpas will lead you through the trails, and ensure you have the best time and experience while trekking in Nepal!
