This is the only hunting reserve in the country to meet the needs of Nepalese and foreign hunters of blue sheep and other game animals.     Dhorpatan hunting reserve tour is a popular adventure tour of Nepal. It is located in west Nepal. This is the only hunting reserve in the country to meet the needs of Nepalese and foreign hunters of blue sheep and other game animals. The reserve extends over an area of 1325 sq km and was established in 1983. The reserve is one of the prime habitats for blue sheep but is also home to other animals such as Leopard, Goral, serow, Himalayan tahr, Himalayan black bear, barking deer, wild boar, rhesus, macaque, langur, and mouse hare. The reserve also consists of 137 species of birds. It is surrounded by villages on all sides except the north. Local people depend on the reserve to meet their requirement of timber, fuel wood, fodder and pasture. The hunting license is issued by the department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation. But only certain species of animals are permitted to hunt. Besides hunting, the reserve is also an attractive destination for trekkers and nature lovers.

    Outline Itinerary:

    Day one: Drive Kathmandu to Beni by bus
    Day Two: Drive Beni to Darbang and to Dharapani (1575m)
    Day Three: Dharapani to Lamsung (2250m)
    Day Four: Lamsung to Tallo Jaljala (3400m)
    Day Five:Tallo Jaljala to Dhorpatan (2860m)
    Day Six/ Seven/ Eight:Hunting in Dhorpatan 
    Day Nine:Dhorpatan to Bobang (1730m)
    Day Ten: Bobang to Burtibang (1130m)
    Day Eleven: Drive Burtibang to Baglung by jeep.
    Day Twelve: Drive Baglung to Kathmand.

     

  • Detail Itinerary
    • Day one Drive Kathmandu to Beni by bus

      Early morning wake up and drive to Beni. On your drive you will see landscape, rivers, villages, farms and beautiful mountain scenery and to Beni.

    • Day two Drive Beni to Darbang and to Dharapani (1575m)

      After your breakfast we will drive to Darbang.  After reaching there we will rest for a while and start our trek to Dharapani where we will stay the overnight.  

    • Day three Dharapani to Lamsung (2250m)

      Today we will trek from Dharapani to Lamsung. On the way you can see beautiful landscape and wild vegetation. Overnight stay at lamsung

    • Day four Lamsung to Tallo Jaljala (3400m)

      After your breakfast we will trek to Tallo Jaljala. The trial is steep and ascends upward and downward. You can encounter with wild animal on our trial. Overnight stay at tallo Jaljala.

    • Day five Tallo Jaljala to Dhorpatan (2860m)

      Today we will be trekking forward to our destination from Tallo Jaljala to Dhorpatan. We will be following the trial to reach the reserve on our way we can encounter with Flora and Faunas of this region. Overnight stay at Dhorpatan.

    • Day Six/ seven/ eight Hunting in Dhorpatan

      We will be hunting or be involved in hunting related activities in these 3 days.  Our hunting assistants, normally the locals will search for animal’s habitat and help us hunt. They also teach us their technique and provide information regarding game hunting. We will sight see places and even explore the reserve.

    • Day Nine Dhorpatan to Bobang (1730m)

      After breakfast we will trek from Dhorpatan to Bobang. We can see local people village and their lifestyle, culture and tradition.

    • Day ten Bobang to Burtibang (1130m)

      Today we will trek from Bobang to Burtibang. Burtibang is a very beautiful village providing you with warm hospitality. We will stay the overnight at Burtibang.

    • Day Eleven Drive Burtibang to Baglung by jeep.

      We will be driving to Baglung from Burtibang today. On your drive you will see landscape, rivers, villages, farms and beautiful mountain scenery and to Baglung.

    • Day twelve Drive Baglung to Kathmandu

      Today is the last day of our tour we will be driving to Kathmandu from Baglung today. On your drive you will see landscape, rivers, villages, farms and beautiful mountain scenery and to Kathmandu.
