      Unique trekking experience, #1 hospitality

There may be over 1000 trekking companies in Kathmandu, but Malung Treks is as unique as the trek it will provide for you. Their motto “Guests are gods” ring true, especially in their attention to detail and hospitality. They are an honest community of experienced trekkers who truly want to show you the beauty of their country.

Bal Kumar Khaling Rai was my guide through Poon Hill and Annapurna Base Camp. To be honest, this trip would not have been the same without him. Every step of the way felt like an adventure; he taught me fascinating facts about the jungle and Nepali culture. I learned to see the Himalayas through the eyes of a local, to notice which plants made good medicinal soup, or how to make a toy out of bamboo shoots, or how to make local alcohol raksi. Bal made me feel welcome to be part of their culture, and not like an outsider.

Bal is very good at accommodating your needs - he made jokes all the time and he noticed when I was feeling weak. He made sure I was physically taken care of and he was able to adjust our itinerary on the spot. He always wanted to bring me to the hotels with the best views, best service, and best local foods.

Nepal is a beautiful country, with breathtaking mountains and hospitable people. It is even more so because of Bal and Malung Treks. If you want a good time in Nepal, make a reservation through them and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

      An unforgettable experience, worth repeating

Last September I’ve been in Nepal with my friends Jolanda and Jannie. Jolanda discovered the Himalayan mountains already some years ago and she was very enthusiastic about her tour with Raj Kumar and his company Malung Treks & Expedition. Because of her positive experiences, we choose for Raj and his team again. We booked the 12 days Annapurna Basecamp (ABC) trekking. It was possible to make some changes and extensions in the program. We appreciated this flexibility and the personal attention of Raj during the trip. Raj was our guide and we had two attentive and friendly carriers. Everything was well arranged. We didn’t have to worry about anything. So we had a very relaxing holiday. Maybe I will come back to Nepal to show my husband the amazing nature and culture of Nepal. There’s no doubt about the company. I will choose Malung Treks & Expedition again, because of the professional and personal approach of Raj Kumar. He is a good guy to his family, his team, his customers and the Nepalese population.
