    • Day 01 Kathmandu to Phaplu flight | Trek to Kaku

      Flight time: 40 minutes, Trekking time: 5 to hrs.

      Our trek to Lower Everest begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Phalpu. Phalpu is situated at the western region of Nepal and has sparse settlements. Upon arrival at Phalpu, we climb uphill towards Kaku, passing through local Sherpa villages in the Solukhumbu region. Overnight at a lodge at Kaku.

    • Day 02 Kaku to Waku

      Trekking time: 7 to 8hrs

      After an early morning breakfast, we ascend through rocky trails amidst the foggy clouds, enjoying and admiring the lush green hills as we finally reach at Waku. Waku village also has a few local Sherpa people settlements. Overnight at Waku.

    • Day 03 Waku to Hill

      Trekking time: 7 to 8hrs.

      We can see heavy layers of clouds and the top of Mt. Everest peaking from behind it as we make our way up the hill. The Hill mesmerizes us with the view of the giant Himalayas. We spend the night at a lodge and gather our strength for next day trek.

    • Day 04 Hill to Panggom

      Trekking time: 5 to 6hrs

      Walking through the hill towards Pangoma, we come across diverse landscapes and tiny settlements. The terrace fields in the region adds more beauty to the nature and eventually leads us to Pangoma where we spend the night at a hotel.

    • Day 05 Panggpm to Paiya (2,730 m.)

      Trekking time: 7 to 8hrs

      After an early morning breakfast, we stumble upon the uphill rocky trail that leads us to Surke. En route, we pass through a few suspension bridges over splashing rivers and waterfalls as well. Overnight at Surke.

    • Day 06 Surke to Phakding (2,610 m)

      Trekking time: 7 to 8hrs

      Embarking on the trail leading us towards Phakding, we come across a few porters carrying a load of things in his back, hikers stretching their bodies for further trek, bushy forests, Mani stones and of course the beautiful rocky mountains. Overnight at a lodge at Phakding.

    • Day 07 Phakding to Namche bazar (3,440 m)

      Trekking time: 7 to 8hrs

      The trail from Phakding to Namche is very well known, consisting of high suspension bridges over rivers and steep uphill steps. We come across many prayer wheels that gives us an understanding on Buddhist societies and customs. Overnight at a hotel at Namche.

    • Day 08 Namche to Thame (3,750 m)

      Trekking time: 6 to 7hrs.

      Namche is a market hub for porters, yak herders and trekkers walking up to Everest Base Camp. Enjoying the life and lifestyle of local Sherpa, ethnic community and crossing the bridge over Bhote Koshi, we advance towards Thame. We explore a few Gompas, picturesque villages and the magnificent view of Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku and Mt. Everest at the horizon as we reach to Thame.

    • Day 09 Rest day at Thame

      An acclimatization day is essential in each trek so as to adjust to the encompassing and environment of the place. However, we do not stay idle and explore the Thame village. We visit a few recantation monasteries and the famous Thangbude Gumba to get a better insight on Buddhist culture and its faith in spirituality. We hike up near to the border of Tibet, Tingri and admire the landscape. We finally make our way back and spend the night at Thame.

    • Day 10 Thame to Jorsalle (Benkar) (2,945 m)

      Trekking time: 8 to 9hrs.

      We descend following the rough trails, going through high suspension connect over Dudh Koshi River and advance toward Jorsalle. The Sherpa hospitality and culture in the region is remarkable. Overnight at a lodge in Jorsalle.

    • Day 11 Jorsalle to Lukla (2840m)

      Trekking time: 4 to 5hrs.

      After an early morning breakfast, we trek back to Lukla. We walk across few more swinging bridges before reaching to Lukla. Overnight at a hotel.

    • Day 12 Lukla to Kathmandu

      Flight time: 30m.

      As we come to the end of our journey, the last half an hour thrilling flight over the rolling hills and the mesmerizing mountains is precious. We enjoy the peak of the Himalayan giants from above the clouds as we land to Kathmandu airport.

    A flight from Kathmandu to Lukla or vice versa can be canceled if bad weather persists as it is unpredictable in the Everest region especially during monsoon. In such case, you might have to wait for a day or two or you can charter a chopper for around $280 to $380 per person: the price is flexible though according to the situation and requirements and the chopper would operate with the enrolment of five passengers.

     

    Alternative:

    You can hire a jeep and drive to Jubing for about 11 to 12 hours, from Jubing you trek to Lukla. However you may have to extend your trekking days for 3 to 4 days following this option and,

    A walk from Lukla for a day to Jubing and drive back to Kathmandu if you are at the other end.

    Daily trekking times will normally be between 5 and 7 hours unless stated

    The following equipment lists are suggested and essential for both camping & teahouse treks in the Himalayas. Given this list as a guideline, most of the trekking equipment can be hired or bought in many adventure shops in Kathmandu as well. Besides, keep in mind that trekking gear can be bought in many adventure shops in Kathmandu, the majority of gear is locally manufactured (hence a lot cheaper) although it is becoming more common for gear to be imported from China and therefore of better quality.
